The subject of the invention is a method for producing flat furniture panels, each exhibiting a flat upper face covered by a veneer (1) made from a hot-bonded laminate. According to the invention, on the one hand, a board (2) is made having rounded longitudinal edges (21, 21'), and, on the other hand, a plate (1) of laminate is made, the latter including a central strip (11), the width of which is at most equal to that of the flat face (20) of the board, bordered laterally by two longitudinal strips (12, 12') exhibiting a different appearance from the central strip (11), particularly the appearance of wood, which are capable of covering over the longitudinal edges (21, 21') of the board in order to obtain, after permanent bonding, a panel equipped with two longitudinal borders which reproduce the appearance of a wooden perimeter. <IMAGE>
