<p>PURPOSE:To impede the infiltration of water from the seams even when ornament pieces, etc., are stitched on the upper of shoes, or when upper materials are stitched to each other by stitching upper materials subjected to waterproof treatment with thermoplastic resin by means of threads surface-treated with thermoplastic resin and pressing them at temperature higher than the fusion temperature of the two thermoplastic resins. CONSTITUTION:An ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer blended with foaming agent with a fusion point of 90 deg.C on the rear surface of a nubuck style synthetic leather-made upper material is coated to a thickness of 40 microns. With the coated surface directed upward, polyethylene sheets with a fusion point of 120 deg.C of a thickness of 20 microns are overlapped with each other and pressed with a thermal roller at temperature of 140 deg.C. On the opposite surface of the polyethylene sheet of cover formed by integrating each layer, an ornament piece like a one-point mark is disposed. The periphery is stitched with a polyester thread completely coated with polyamide resin with a fusion temperature of 80 deg.C, and pressed with an electric iron to allow all the thermoplastic resin to melt and to be made fluid to exhibit waterproof properties.</p> |
