PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized ink jet recording apparatus. CONSTITUTION:In a serial printing type ink jet recording apparatus equipped with an ink jet head 1 and an ink cartridge 7, a damper apparatus absorbing the pressure generated in an ink supply tube 4 at the time of the acceleration/ deceleration of the serial feed of the ink jet head 1 is arranged in parallel to the direction right-angled to a serial feed direction so as to be adjacent to the ink jet head 1. Since the depth of a carriage is small by the above mentioned constitution, the projection area in the feed direction of the carriage becomes small and a lightweight compact apparatus reduced in the moving space of the carriage required therein can be realized. |
