The transducer contains a circular plate coaxial to the measurement object with identical equidistant interrogation sectors (11) and a stationary sensor (6) with an evaluation stage. The sectors are light reflecting fields. The sensor contains three adjacent optical fibres (7-9) directed perpendicularly to the plate. Two (7,8) acting as receivers are arranged at equal radial distances from the centre of the plate. The other (9), which acts as the transmitter, occupies one of the two niches between them. ADVANTAGE - Compact, low-cost rotation sensor is insensitive to electrical or electromagnetic fields and is easy to adjust.
