Radioactive seed-implantation system in skull - uses stiff non-metallic catheter accommodating, supporting or filling stylet(s)

The system comprises a relatively stiff catheter, formed by a small non-metallic tube, pref. visible by X-rays, and onto which a clamping stopper is slid. A supporting stylet of rigid material cna be inserted in the catheter, as can a filling stylet of relatively stiff material. The tube is closed at one end. There can be an external catheter, in which the first one is inserted, and onto which the stopper is slid. Plastic, such as polyurethane of medium hardness, can be used for one or both catheters. USE/ADVANTAGE - The system is used to implant radioactive seeds in the skull of a patient. Precise implantation and catheter position can be corrected.
