Spot welding machine is equipped with a fixed subplate (5) contg. auxiliary electrodes (6) with insert centring pins (7) for the weld nuts and a corresp. hinged upper part (8) with loosely held auxiliary electrodes (9). The two welding electrodes (10) are arranged with vertical motion to make contact through the auxiliary electrodes and with horizontal travel for spot welding outwith the area of subplate and upper part. USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows spot welding and projection welding operations to be performed economically on one machine with the same electrodes and without set-up changes
