PURPOSE:To eliminate a need of an external input/output device for test by physically connecting input/output channels and transferring data between main storage devices by the input/output operation to input/output channels and turning back and transferring data between channels. CONSTITUTION:An input/output controller 20 performs the input/output operation to a channel designated by CH in an input/output instruction. The input/output mode conforms to input/output type designation indicated by Adr 1 in the input/ output instruction. The channel test mode indicated by T. The channel indicarted by the input/output instruction and that indicated by the input/output type as opposite channels are physically turned back on the outside and are connected by an input/output channel connecting cable 25. The input/output data designation designated by Adr 2 indicates the storage position of a main storage device 11. Thus, data on designated channels are inputted to and outputted from the main storage device 11 through the cable 25 by a data transfer mechanism 23 in accordance with the input/output instruction. |
