<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an optical connector which prevents a fiber from bending owing to the expansion and shrinkage of a remaining air bubble and is free from microbending loss, etc., and superior in reliability. CONSTITUTION:A coated optical fiber 16 is formed by coating an optical fiber 18 with a jacket layer 24 and the fiber 18 which is exposed by stripping the jacket layer 24 at the tip part of the coated optical fiber 24 is inserted into the alignment hole 26 of the core body 12 of a connector main body 14 and aligned; and the tip part of the coated optical fiber 16 including the end surface of the jacket layer 24 connecting with the optical fiber 18 is adhered and fixed in the insertion hole of the sleeve 10 of the connector main body 14 with an adhesive 28 to form the optical connector. The end part of the core body 12 on the side where the fiber 18 is inserted is formed into a tapered projection part 30 which has the alignment hole 26 formed in the center and the coated optical fiber 16 is fixed in the insertion hole of the sleeve 10 with an adhesive 28 by making the end surface of the jacket layer 24 abut on the tip surface of the projection part 30.</p> |
