The square, transportable container has a base (110) onto which the sides (112, 114, 116, 118) flap down when the container is empty, by the first pair of facing sides (114, 118) lying directly on the base, and the second pair of opposite sides (112, 116) resting on the first pair. The sides' hinge axes (114a, 118a; 112a, 116a) on which they fold are positioned at different heights (0,h112,h116,h118) above the base. The sides have fitments (120) on them for attaching them together. At least two opposite sides have lifting-handles (140). ADVANTAGE - The transportable container can be folded down compactly when empty.
