The heat expansion coefficient of the bolt differs by no more than 10% from that of the base component (1). The bolt (4) has a hardened surface layer which can include polymers.. The base component can be made from pressure cast aluminimum and the bolt or pin from an aluminium alloy. The bolt can have a collar (5) which defines the insert depth and acts as a bearing for a pinion (6) rotatably set on the bolt.
