PURPOSE:To obtain a high-water hydrogen free from cytotoxicity, etc., and improved in moldability, heat resistance, etc., by introducing a crosslinked structure into an intermolecularly hydrogen-bonded polymeric complex containing a specified polymer and an N-substituted lactam by irradiation with a radiation. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer comprising (substituted) ethylene and maleic anhydride is reacted with ammonia to obtain a copolymer (A) comprising a polymer comprising hydrogen-donating amide repeating units of the formula (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H or-CH3; R<3> is H, 1-5 C alkyl or phenyl; Z is-COO M or H; and M<+> is a hydrogen ion, an alkali metal ion or an ammonium ion). A crosslinked structure is introduced into an intermolecularly hydrogen-bonded polymeric complex (B) containing component A and an N-substituted lactam, desirably polyvinylpyrrolidone, in a weight ratio of A/B of (1-10)/(10-2) by irradiation at a dose of 0.5-10 Mrad. |
