PURPOSE:To reduce the turbulence of the data of a low-order bit due to the data of a high-order bit, and to improve the quality in auditory feeling of a reproduced sound at the time of the A-D conversion of a sound signal. CONSTITUTION:A front end 10 which over-samples an analog sound signal SA by frequency N.fs, and generates the data of short word length, and a pair of decimators 2A, 2B which convert the output of this front end 10 into the output data of long word length by lowering the data rate of it to required sampling frequency fs are provided. Then, the output of the front end 10 is supplied directly to the decimator 2A of one side, and simultaneously, the output of the front end 10 is supplied to the decimator 2B of the other side after bit shift down, and the outputs of both the decimators 2A, 2B are summed.
