PURPOSE:To produce ice of good quality and improve water saving effect by discharging impurities contained in water for making ice at proper frequency. CONSTITUTION:A hot valve 18, water valve 23 and circulation pump 25 are controlled sequentially to successively repeat an ice removal and water feed process wherein blocks of ice on an ice making board 12 are caused to fall down and stored in an ice storage and water is supplied into an ice water tank 11, an ice making process for making ice on the board 12, and a water discharge process for discharging ice water in the tank 11, during which water in the tank 11 is discharged at intervals of predetermined number of cycles according to the frequency set by users. When water has been discharged from the tank 11, quantity of feed water in the ice removal and feed water process is increased, whereas when water has not been discharged, quantity of feed water is reduced.
