The grinding machine uses a programmable machine control supervising all the movements of the grinding spindles (4), the total spindle and the timing roller (7). The latter has an associated compensation device with a thermal compensation sensor detecting the axial spacing variation due to the thermal expansion of the machine for supplying a corresponding signal to the machine control. Pref. the grinding disc radial spacing variation due to the thermal expansion is also detected with corresponding compensation via the machine control. ADVANTAGE - Ensures precision machining.
