A pedal 1, having an adjustable heel positioning device 7, is pivotally mounted at 2 on a lever 16 and is connected through a cable 9 which passes through a sheath 21 and an adjustment nut 25, to a lever 19 connected to a throttle control mechanism. The lever 16 is connected by links 13, 27 to an hydraulic brake cylinder 23, the arrangement being such that rotation of the pedal 1 in a clockwise direction about its pivot 2 actuates the throttle, while applying force to the pivot 2 whereby the lever 16 rotates in a clockwise direction actuates the brake, during which movement the pedal 1 moves relatively to the lever 16 so as to decrease the tension in the cable 9. A magnet 22 is attached to the lever 16 to hold it in the brake released position by co-operating with an iron base member.</p> |
