PURPOSE:To obtain a picture with even brightness by adjusting the voltage applied to the rear electrode every linear cathode and uniformalizing the electron beam flow radiated on a luminous means. CONSTITUTION:A switching circuit 38 transmits its output by sequentially switching the same number of input terminals as that of linear cathodes 2a1, 2b1- while connecting input terminals a1-o1 to a rear electrode 1 and this switching is achieved by pulses a1-o1 output by a vertical drive pulse generator circuit 25. That is to say, the rear electrode 1 time-divides the voltage of variable power supplies 37a1-37o1 every 16H period and sequentially applies it. However, the supply switching of the output voltage of the variable power supplies 37a1-37o1 into the rear electrode 1 and the switching of the electron emission period of the respective linear cathodes 2a1-2o1 by a linear cathode drive circuit 26 are fully synchronously controlled. The electron beam flow from the respective linear cathodes 2a1-2o1 can individually be adjusted by varying the output of the variable power supplies 37a1-37o1. |
