Tank shell flight path determination system - uses camera for viewing target images plane within target image disc in shell path

The flight path determn. system uses at least one immaterial target image disc (13) in the path of the shell (2) with a target image plane which is viewed by a camera (14). Pref. the target image plane is associated with the image field of a photodetector (12a-d) for providing a high precision electrical pulse upon penetration of the shell (2) which is detected by the camera (14). The camera pref. has an image amplifier responding to the pulse to provide a charge image. ADVANTAGE - Reduced complexity and cost.
