The invention provides a closable container having an access opening closable by closure means, the closure means including at least one but preferably two hinged doors 22, 24 hingedly mounted on the container at 26, 28 on opposed sides of the access opening, and releasable locking means for the doors including a pair of T-shaped pressure plates 52, 54 hingedly mounted by means of hinge pins 56, 58 on opposed sides of the access opening. The pressure plates 52, 54 are pivotally displaceable around axes disposed at right angles to the pivotal axes of the hinged doors 22, 24 to a closed position in which they are positioned over the doors 22, 24 to overlap at least partially with the edges of each door. Engagement means including an engagement block 64 and a handle 74 is rotatably displaceable from a disengaged position to an engaged position (Fig. 1) in which it engages the pressure plates 52, 54 to exert force on the plates so as to press the edge regions of the doors 22, 24 uniformly against the sides of the access opening. <IMAGE> |
