PURPOSE:To automatically draw an inter-column line at a proper line between step blocks in a document by using document format information in a document forming device having a stepped function. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate calculating part 10 calculates the number of steps corresponding to the number of step blocks based on the document format information of a document and calculates the start and end coordinates of an inter-column line corresponding to the number of steps. A memory 9 stores an inter-column line table consisting of the calculated start and end coordinates of the inter-column line. An editing part 8 executes processing for drawing an inter-column line between respective column blocks connecting two points based upon the start and end coordinates extracted from the inter-column line table. |
