A shaving apparatus comprises a housing (1) provided with a first shaving member (2) having a first cutting edge (3) and with a second shaving member (4) having a second cutting edge (5), which second shaving member (4) is drivable relative to the first shaving member (2), the movement of the second cutting edge (5) relative to the first cutting edge (3) in a plane transverse to the cutting edges being composed of the movements in two main directions in this plane. The second shaving member (4) is provided with a carrier (10) mounted in the housing (1) so as to be movable in both main directions and the carrier (10) comprises two surfaces (18,13) which extend transversely of the main directions and which engage against a rotatably drivable cam disc (17).
