Vinyl-substituted nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds of the formulae <FORM:0883808/IV (b)/1> <FORM:0883808/IV (b)/2> or <FORM:0883808/IV (b)/3> in which m is 1 or 2, and R is hydrogen or an alkyl group, particularly ethyl or methyl, are inhibited against polymerisation during distillation and storage by the addition of a diarylamine having the formula <FORM:0883808/IV (b)/4> in which R is a nitro, halide, hydroxyl, amino, cyanide or sulphonic group and n is O-4. The preferred inhibitor is hexanitrodiphenylamine. The inhibitor is preferably added in an amount of 0.001-5% by weight. |
