The present invention relates to a biaxially oriented polyester film having improved friction coefficient and water resistance comprising a coating provided on at least one surface of the film. The biaxially oriented polyester film is coated with water-soluble or water-dispersed resin compounds which are mixed water-dispersion waxy additives, styrene sulfonic acid compounds and inorganic fine particles, with the copolyester resins, on one or both sides.
