<p>PURPOSE: To simplify a method of manufacturing an air bag and improve the aging resistance of seams by forming an air bag sheet of thermoplastic polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide, or a mixture of these. CONSTITUTION: An air bag comprises a cover body 1, a body 2, a holding annular body 3 for mounting the body 2 to a gas generating device, a mounting part 4 with a plurality of strip cords 5 stabilized in an inflated state to hold shape, and heat insulating material. A sheet for the air bag is formed of thermoplastic polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide, or a mixture of these. A fiber layer used for the sheet is formed of polyamide, polyester, polyaramide, glass fiber, carbon fiber, natural fiber of at least 50 N/mm<2> , or a mixture of these.</p> |
