PURPOSE:To improve the yield of the active matrix display device and reduce the cost by easily confirming and correcting a picture element defect. CONSTITUTION:A gate bus line projection part 43 which projects toward a corner part of a picture element electrode 41 is provided to a gate bus line 21b adjacent to a gate bus line 21a connected to the picture element electrode 41 and a conductor piece 44 is superposed on the tip part of the gate bus line projection part 43 through a gate insulating film 13. A source bus line projection part 46 which projects toward the corner part of the picture element electrode 41 is provided to a source bus line 23 and the tip part of the source bus line projection part is superposed upon the gate bus line projection part 43 through the gate insulating film 13. If a picture element becomes defective in this structure, the source bus line 23 and picture element electrode 41 are short-circuited by laser light irradiation.
