摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom of a layout by keeping a balance between weights on both sides when an engine is longitudinally installed as the increase of the height of a power train is suppressed and causing the engine being a heavy body to approach an axle when the engine is transversally installed, in the power train of a vehicle wherein an engine and a transmission are mounted in juxtaposition. CONSTITUTION:A differential 21 and a transmission 3 are arranged in juxtaposition in a manner that they are laterally distributed relative to an engine 1. A primary shaft 6 of the transmission 3 is arranged to the side of a crankshaft 4, and a secondary shaft 7 is arranged obliquely upward of crankshaft 4. The differential 21 is arranged obliquely downward of the opposite transmission 3 of the crankshaft 4. An output gear 20 of the transmission is coupled to a differential gear 23 through an idle gear 40 loosely fitted to the crankshaft 4 of the engine 1.
