PURPOSE: To surely mutually connect a large number of contact pads to a printed circuit board or the like by using a flexible circuit film in connection with coil springs, granting required vertical force. CONSTITUTION: A subassembly is composed of a thin tube 28, a rigid core member 30, coil springs 32, and a flexible circuit support film strip 34. Slits 38 are provided in an adjoining side surface of the tube 28, and holes are provided in a side surface. The strips are arranged on the surface of an insulation material. The ends of traces 64 are preferably formed in circuit pads 66 having protuberance portions or bumps 68. The film strip 34 is wound around the tube 28 and the springs 32 and is fixed by mushroom pins 76. Thereby, it is possible to surely obtain a sufficiently firm structure for mutually connecting a large number of contact pads to a printed circuit board or the like. |
