PURPOSE: To simultaneously obtain all the advantages of high image sharpness, low interimage effect, high photographic sensitivity, and lowγnormalization graininess to be obtained. CONSTITUTION: The combination of the couplers is composed of a development inhibitor-releasing coupler represented by the following formula: COUP1 -(TIME)n - INH-(Q)m is which COUP1 is a coupler component; TIME is a timing group; INH-(Q)m is a development inhibitor component and Q is a thioether part; and each of (n) and (m) is, independently, an integer, and the second coupler represented by the following formula: COUP2 -(TIME)n -S-R1 -R2 in which COUP2 is a coupler component; TIME is a timing group; R1 is a divalent bonding group; and R2 is a water-solubilizing group.
