PURPOSE:To decide even abnormality of a sensor, etc., which is not originally an object of diagnosis as to the image formation device which is high in autonomy and saves the labor for repairing operation. CONSTITUTION:Deterioration quantities represented as fuzzy qualitative values are found from state data and deterioration data detected by sensors 1a, 1b, and 1c. Parameter values varying with the deterioration quantities are represented as fuzzy qualitative values. The state data is represented as a fuzzy qualitative value and used to decide whether or not there is a fault. Consequently, when there is no fault, the parameter values varying with the deterioration quantities are used as initial values to diagnose a deterioration state. When the diagnostic result does not match the fuzzy qualitative value of the state data although there is no fault, the possibility of some abnormality such as sensor abnormality is reported. |
