PURPOSE:To obtain a battery having high initial capacity and a long life by making chemical conversion treatment with a nonforming plate use for a negative electrode and with the nonforming plate and a forming plate simultaneously used in the same constitution group for a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION:Chemical conversion treatment is made by using a nonforming plate for a negative electrode 2, and putting one formed positive plate 1' in an end or the middle for a positive electrode and using nonforming plates 1 for all the remainders. This enables a forming electricity quantity at the time of battery jar forming to be reduced, forming time to be shortened, and liquid reduction to be lessened by the electrolysis of water. Moreover a nonformed active late 1' can be uniformly formed, a battery having small capacity-up and capacity dispersion can be obtained, and the initial capacity of a type I can be improved by about 7 minutes compared with that of a type III (nonforming electrodes are used to both the negative and positive electrodes). |
