PURPOSE:To reduce a difference between the frequency at the time of starting the lighting and the frequency at the ordinary time to improve safety of a control system, and while make a device compact by flowing a large current to a high luminance discharge lamp at the time of starting the lighting to increase the frequency. CONSTITUTION:A coil device 4 for trigger is inserted between a power source circuit 2, which converts a direct current to an alternating current for output, and a high luminance discharge lamp 5. The trigger pulse generated in a coil 41 of the coil device 4 is used to trigger the discharge lamp 5. The coil device 4 is driven so that a core 42 is saturated magnetically in a range from a lighting start to the ordinary condition. |
