PURPOSE:To improve durability an magnetic characteristics such as coercive force of a magnetic recording medium and to reduce cost. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic recording medium 10 consists of a substrate 1 and a thin alloy film magnetic layer 3. The magnetic layer 3 is formed with Co100-y(Pt100-xPdx)y and x and y are selected to satisfy 0<=x<=80 (atomic %) and 10<=y<=35 (atomic %), respectively. |
