BIOIMPLANTING MATERIAL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide the material having excellent affinity to a living body when implanted into the living body and the process for producing this material. CONSTITUTION:The material of this invention is formed by bonding collagen to the surface of a porous body consisting of a polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) polymer. Such material is obtd. by bringing the collagen into reaction with the porous body of the PVA polymer having a carboxyl group to bond the collagen to the carboxyl group. A sufficient amt. of the collagen can easily be bonded to the above-mentioned polymer and the fixing to the living body is securely executed.
