PURPOSE:To increase the filling density of a gas generating agent, and to improve the vibration-proof characteristic of a gas generator for an air bag for which a gas generating agent as well as an ignition device are stored in a case provided with a gas ejection hole, by retaining the gas generating agent on the hole part of a three-dimensional network structure porous body. CONSTITUTION:An ignition agent 5 and an ignition plug are stored in the center of a disc-shaped casing 1 of a gas generator for driver, and a gas generating agent 4 held on the hole part of a three-dimensional network structure porous body 7 is stored in a gas generating agent storing chamber provided on the outside of the casing. The combustion gas of the gas generating agent 4 is flown out of a gas outflow port 2 formed on the outer peripheral side wall of the casing 1, on which a filter 6 is installed in the inner circumferential surface, so as to expand an air bag, and a passenger is protected against shock thereby. After the three-dimensional network structure porous body 7 is conducted to a foaming resin having a communicating gas hole, the body is manufactured by electric plating, while a mixed material of soda azide and oxide copper and the like is used for the gas generating agent 4. |
