<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a tape traveling mechanism which facilitates restriction of the position of a magnetic tape in its width direction without restricting the edge of the magnetic tape mechanically and forcedly and whose magnetic tape travel support member is easy to assemble and adjust. CONSTITUTION:A member 30 which is supported by a base table and on which a magnetic tape 2 slides and sensors 37 and 38 which detect the height of the magnetic tape 2 along its width direction on the sliding member 30 are provided in a tape transportation path along which the magnetic tape 2 moves and electrodes 31, 32 and 33 which control the height of the magnetic tape 2 in its width direction are provided on the surface of the sliding member 30 and an apparatus giving positive and negative charges to the electrodes 31, 32 and 33 is provided.</p> |
