Polyvinyl butyral has its adhesive properties modified by the incorporation therewith of either (a) 0.03 to 0.2% by weight, based on the polyvinyl butyral, of hydroxyethylated stearic acid containing 30 to 40 moles of ethylene oxide in the molecule; or (b) 0.001 to 0.15% by weight of a natural lecithin of animal or vegetable origin; or (c) 0.05 to 0.5% by weight of dodecanol-(1). Examples are given.
