The invention relates to a device which makes it possible, without using an explosive, and without risk, to extinguish oil well fires. It consists of a vertical central tube (I) with two safety valves (7, 8) on the inside. The following are solidly attached to its base: a shoulder (3), a concrete or metal weight plate (4), a joint (5) for sealing with the ground and, as a variant, a circular hollow joint (6). A horizontal tube (2) with an oil extraction valve (9) is appended to the vertical tube (I). Two lifting hooks (10) are located on the upper end. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for extinguishing oil well fires. <IMAGE>
