The present invention relates to a femoral implant, the neck (1) of which is provided at its upper end with a Morse cone (2) for attachment of a ceramic ball, and the prosthetic shaft (3) of which is provided with reliefs in the form of parallel longitudinal ribs (6). The implant is characterised in that the parallel longitudinal ribs (6) have a cross-section of tooth shape having a profile which is substantially in the form of a quarter round, the outer ridge of which forms a cutting edge for the bone structure to be penetrated, and the curved or oblique face of which holds the said structure back, the said ribs being separated from each other by grooves (7). The invention applies more particularly to the field of surgery, in particular prostheses. <IMAGE>
