PURPOSE:To provide the subject melanin production inhibitor having an excellent tyrosinase inhibitory effect, excellent in safety and capable of producing a cosmetics excellent in whitening effect and feeling in use. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to the genus Streptococcus or Lactococcus, preferably Streptococcus thermophilus TIT 2001 strain (Bikoken stipulation No.11891) or Lactococcus lactis subspecies cremoris YIT 2058 strain (Bikoken stipulation No.11790) is cultured in a condition suitable for growth of the microorganism. Cells are subsequently separated by centrifugation, etc., and the resultant supernatant is used as the active component of the objective melanin production inhibitor. |
