PURPOSE:To provide an image screen which can be easily expanded up to a large area, is inexpensive and is sharp without allowing the display screen to blur by providing regions which do not allow the transmission of light around picture elements. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask 10 having aperture windows of the same size as the size of projected picture elements 11 or the size slightly smaller than this size is previously formed of a black epoxy resin by a screen printing method in the position of the corresponding screen at the time of making image display by allowing coloring light to pass plural liquid crystal panels, synthesizing the light past the liquid crystal panels and projecting the light to the screen. The light rays transmitted through the liquid crystal panels by as much as deviated components deviate from the intrinsically projected positions and cause the display blur if the registration of the optical system deviates but if the deviation is within the range of 1/12 or 1/13 of the width of the shadow mask 10 on the projection screen, the light rays do not arrive forward of the screen, i.e., the persons viewing the display and, therefore, the blur of the display is invisible. |
