<p>PURPOSE: To provide a noninvasive automatic blood pressure monitor using oscillometry. CONSTITUTION: A Manschette tourniquet is expanded, then it is shrunk in a noncontinuous shrinking step, and the vibration generated by the motion of an arterial wall between the shrinking steps is recorded. If no vibration is generated, the step is interrupted when the prescribed time tmax elapses. The prescribed time tmax can be changed according to the heart rate. The time required for each measurement can be considerably shortened.</p> |
