PURPOSE:To freeze and release a system at an arbitrary instant by retreating contents of the registers of a CPU and a main memory device in an auxiliary memory device and reading out the contents retreated in the device 40 and supplying the same to the main memory device. CONSTITUTION:When a service processing unit 20 receives an instruction of freezing the system from an operator, it transmits a signal of stopping the clock oscillation circuit 130 of a CPU10 to the CPU10. Consequently, the CPU10 stops operation at an arbitrary instant, and retreats the contents of the registers 111-119 of the CPU10 and a main memory device 30 of that instant into an auxiliary memory device 40. On the other hand, at the releasing of the system, the unit 20 reads out the contents having been retreated in the device 40, supplies the same to the CPU10 and the device 30 and announces this to the CPU10. Thereby, the system is frozen and released at an arbitrary instant without performing closing processing and rerising processing by an operating system. |
