IMPROVEMENT OF GAS-LIQUID DISPERSION IN PIPE

PURPOSE: To improve processes and devices for enhancing the efficiency of the dispersion of a gas in a liquid and having the operation relating to the use and the operating condition of various gas/liquid mixture flexible. CONSTITUTION: The present invention is characterized by using an adjustable conical mixer with a venturi device. A liquid stream 1 passes through a flow conduit 2 and into a venturi 3 having a converging section 4, neck section 3 and diverging section 6. A conical mixer 7 having cones 8 and 9 is slidably positioned so that the cone 8 thereof is positioned in the converging section 4 and its pointed end is positioned into a neck section 5 of the venturi. The cone 9 is positioned facing to a gas ejection tube 15 and is supported by a supporting member 12 attached to an outer tube 13 that contains the ejection tube 15. The position of the conical mixer is adjusted so that the size of an annular opening 18 is most suitable to accelerate the mixture to a supersonic velocity. Produced sonic shock waves sheare the bubbles in the mixture.
