PURPOSE:To offer the production of a toner having enough hydrophobic surface of toner particles produced by suspension polymn. in water, having stable charge holding effect at high temp. and high humidity and gives sharp picture images without fogging, scattering or bleeding. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable monomer mixture liquid containing a monomer having ethylene-type unsatd. double bond and a colorant is dispersed in water with using a water-insoluble inorg. salt as a dispersion stabilizer to effect the suspension polymn. Then the surface of monomer particles are treated with weak basic silane coupling agent to produce a negative charge type toner which has stable charge holding effect and gives good picture images. |
