PURPOSE:To enable the baking of a number of formed articles having small deviation of the properties in a lot with decreased steps by coating the surface of a formed article of PZT powder with a powdery mixture of PZT powder and ZrO2 powder and baking the coated article. CONSTITUTION:For example, PbO, ZrO2 and TiO2 are weighed at prescribed ratios and mixed with a ball mill 30. The obtained mixture is charged into an oven 31, calcined in the presence of air, crushed again with a ball mill 32 and dehydrated and dried to obtain a mixed raw material powder. The powder is charged into a mold 330 of a uniaxial press 33 and formed to obtain a disk- shaped formed article 1a made of PZT powder. Separately, a mixture of mixed calcined PZT powder, polyvinyl butyral and ZrO2 at prescribed ratios is mixed with ethanol or methanol and stirred in a ball mill 34 to get a slurry. The formed article 1a is immersed in and taken out of the slurry to form a coated article 1b having the above coating component attached to the surface. The articles 1b are arranged in an alumina container 36 at regular intervals and baked to obtain the objective piezoelectric pellets. |
