<p>PURPOSE:To generate strong wave motion, by applying an impacting torque to the ground as a reaction against sudden stopping of a rotating flywheel after storing inertial energy by rotating the flywheel. CONSTITUTION:On a vibrating plate 1 fixed on the ground Z, a flywheel 3 is forcibly rotated around an axis 2, rectangularly set to the vibrating plate 1. When its rotation has obtained enough high speed, a braking unit 4 is activated and the flywheel 3 is quickly stopped. Because the unit 4 is fixed to a bearing frame 6 assembled on the vibration plate 1, all the inertial energy stored in the rotating flywheel 3 is quickly transferred to the ground Z through the vibrating plate 1 and lateral wave is generated by the impacting torque.</p> |
