PURPOSE:To improve S/N based on off track and improve reliability of the information processing, by giving a trapezoidal form, where the gap side is narrow and the counter gap side is wide, to the core of the gap part. CONSTITUTION:A trapezoidal form where, for example, width W in the gap side is 15mum and width W0 in the counter gap side is 20mum is given to the core of the gap part by the ion etching method and so on. Due to the large difference of energy for write and read, data is written with the full core width, namely, width of W0=20mum; and at the read time, power of almost only potential is detected, and the constricted form effect of the thin film head core functions to detect recorded information on the track part of width W=15mum. As a result, S/N based on off track is improved, and reliability of the information processing is improved. |
