The invention concerns a forestry seeding machine comprising a frame part 3 which can be coupled to a tractor and on which there has been mounted a working apparatus, with which the seed bed is obtained, a container 6 for the seeds which are sown, and members for conveying the seeds from the container 6 to the seed bed prepared on the ground. To achieve a good seeding result, there is at least one vertical protecting tube 4 which has been arranged on the frame part 3 and inside which a vertically movable cutting edge member 5 has been arranged. The downward movement of the cutting edge member has been arranged to turn the seed wheel 7, belonging to the seeding apparatus, in such a way that it displaces a seed from the container 6 and drops it onto the seed bed prepared by the cutting edge member 5. The upward movement of the cutting member 5 has been arranged to turn the seed wheel 7 in such a way that it can take up a new seed from the container. <IMAGE>
