The firearm ammunition container (19) accommodates a round (23) ignited in it, and is inserted in the gunbarrel or delivered to it. It comprises a relatively thin-walled sleeve (50), and enclosed by a fibrous casing (51) wound round it, absorbing the gas pressure generated on firing. The sleeve can be of steel, ceramic, or steel lined with ceramic and carbon-fibres can be used to form the casing. ADVANTAGE- Lightweight, wear-resistance, and absorbs high pressures.
