PRODUCTION OF SYNDIOTACTIC POLYPROPYLENE

PURPOSE:To produce a syndiotactic polypropylene having a low ash content, a desired molecular weight and high tacticity. CONSTITUTION:A transition metal compound having asymmetrical ligands is treated with an organoaluminum compound, and the obtained compound is brought into contact with a compound which can form an ionic compound when reacted with the obtained compound to obtain a catalyst component. A syndiotactic polypropylene is produced by polymerizing propylene in the presence of an internal olefin in the presence of the obtained catalyst component.
