PURPOSE:To copy an image to both sides of a recording medium in a proper direction regardless of the direction of an image by rotating and outputting image information to a rear side of the recording medium in the rear image forming process in the case of both side image forming with respect to an original image. CONSTITUTION:An original scanning section sends a size of an original obtained by preliminary scanning to a CPU 42a through a communication line 3013. The CPU 42a controls reading of an image data in response to the size of the original to be detected. Moreover, when the placed original is discriminated in the direction of R and the both side copying mode is selected, the up/down inversion mode is driven and set in the rear side copying process. The read sequence of the image data is changed in the rear side copy process in this mode to form an image from the tail end of the image in the subscanning direction. Thus, it is possible to make the direction of the output image coincident on the front and rear sides of the recording medium. |
